DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES

SUMMARY
Orthus Health is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to lead our organization’s adoption of evidence-based guidelines and behavior change best practices across our wellness programs. Key responsibilities include definition of disease prevention and condition management protocols, development of appropriate self-management and support materials, with emphasis on driving positive health outcomes. Particular focus on Type II Diabetes management. As part of a growing, and evolving organization, this individual will conduct patient outreach and health coaching activities, included but not limited to review of modifiable risk factors, identifying gaps in care, perform age/gender preventive screenings, and education of medications with a goal to increase compliance. Applicant should have familiarity with analyzing medical, pharmacy and biometric data. Demonstrated ability to lead and work with a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals (i.e., nurses, exercise physiologist, bio-statistician, etc.).
RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies and procedures for disease prevention and condition management programs, with particular focus on Type II Diabetes management.

Develop member-facing educational content and self-management tools to drive healthy behavior.

Serve as an expert health coach. May interface with members dealing with complex/ multiple conditions or escalations.

Provide leadership, mentorship and oversight to Orthus Health coaches. Responsible for day-to-day management and supervision of both local and remote staff.

Recruit, train and retain qualified RN and LCSW Care/Case Managers, Registered Dietitians, Clinical Diabetes Educators, Care Coordinators, and other clinical staff.

Establish policies and procedures for ongoing clinical quality review.

Provide formal and informal education and training opportunities for clinical and non-clinical staff on a regular basis.

Ensure standard operating procedures for wellness programs remain in compliance with all clinically-related legal and regulatory matters.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Robust knowledge of ADA Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes, AHA Hypertension Clinical Guidelines and CDC DPP Lifestyle Management guidelines.

Substantial knowledge of the healthcare industry

Motivated learner willing to acquire proficiency with the necessary technology, including computers, software applications, phone systems, etc.

Desire to excel in a performance-based high-touch service environment (preferably with an inbound/outbound telephonic component)

Thrive in a team environment, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced atmosphere and successfully collaborate with diverse groups at all levels of the organization.

Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
EDUCATION
A BSN, MSN or Master of Science level education related to the fields of public health, epidemiology, health informatics, nursing or wellness science.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Registered Nurse

Certified Diabetes Educator strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Applicants should have experience in care management, disease management, public health strategies, wellness or related fields. Entrepreneurial self-starter motivated to build and refine clinical interventional strategies.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
Applicants should be familiar with analyzing medical and pharmacy data and developing strategies to effectively reduce health risk among populations. Other helpful skills would be a familiarity with population health management, disease management and behavioral change techniques.
PERSONAL SKILLS
Applicant should be an effective communicator, written and verbal. The ability to lead and work vigorously in a team environment is crucial for this position.
